Lillie is a retired teacher who had lived in her home for more than 25 years. However, storm damage from Hurricane Florence caused her home to deteriorate over time. She partnered with Cape Fear Habitat after living in deteriorating conditions for several years. To restore her home, Habitat’s Repair Team provided the necessary repairs, including new drywall and insulation, new kitchen flooring, and a new storm door. “I’m very pleased with the work! It looks like a new house!”

These repairs were possible through the generous support of a grant from Lowe’s. Through partnerships like this, and with support from the community, Cape Fear Habitat repairs approximately 35 homes annually.
