Our Endowment
A Gift That Keeps Giving
In 2024, Al Sidbury approached Cape Fear Habitat with the intention to establish the Al and Judy Sidbury Endowment for the Benefit of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. “I got a lot of help along the way,” said Al. “I’ve been blessed with resources, and now I want to help other people.” Al’s generous donation will continue to benefit Cape Fear Habitat for generations to come, ensuring that affordable housing will be a constant in the Cape Fear Region.
What is an Endowment?
An endowment is a fund where the principal remains invested and a nonprofit–in this case, Cape Fear Habitat–receives an annual payout to support their mission. Any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s value. The great news is that this fund is available for anyone to contribute to. Additional donations will help the fund grow and provide even more support for Habitat programs each year.
