Volunteer Opportunities
Our ReStores are an integral part of funding our mission. Sales from the ReStores support Cape Fear Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
We have daily volunteer opportunities at our ReStores with flexible shifts and friendly faces. Volunteer positions include receiving donations, customer service, and showroom organizers.
Shabby Chic
The shifts are typically 10am-1pm and 1pm-5pm Monday through Saturday, though you are welcome to come in at a time that best fits your schedule – We just ask that you communicate with us if those times differ!
Once you choose a piece from the salesfloor, let the cashier or another staff member know! They will give you a label for the piece, and it will be brought down to the warehouse for you.
No experience is required, as we welcome all skill levels! It is self-directed, so you are able to work alone or collaborate with another volunteer on a piece.
Once your piece is finished, it will be returned to the ReStore salesfloor at a higher value!
Get creative with our Shabby Chic program! Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, this hands-on experience lets you restore furniture your way. It’s a fun, flexible, and self-directed project that allows you to experiment with new techniques and donate the upcycled piece back to the ReStore.

Deconstruction
The Deconstruction Program carefully uninstalls cabinets, appliances, and more from homes that are being renovated or demolished. Volunteering with Deconstruction is a fun, hands-on way of supporting Cape Fear Habitat’s mission and keeping materials out of landfills.
